Killer Joe - Will Matthew McConaughey Win an Oscar?

He'll probably not get a nomination sadly. Anything NC-17 is a sure fire way of not getting a nomination. People though Fassbender was a lock last year, but because of Shame's NC-17 rating the voting academy steered far clear of a Fassbender nomination.

Will probably happen here too, which is a shame because this movie looks awesome.

I don't like him. He's played himself in too many movies for me to get on his dick all of a sudden like y'all.

Wondering how bad this could be from a violence perspective if a film like The Killer Inside Me was rated R.

He's not just getting props for this performance, either. He's getting positive buzz for his role as a male stripper in Steven Sodebergh's Magic Mike and a starring role in Mudd, which was directed by the same guy who did Take Shelter and Shotgun Stories. McConaughey was never a terrible actor, but after years of starring in shitty romantic comedies, I'm honestly surprised to see him picking awesome movies to star in.

More power to him if all three of these movies turn out to be great.

I'm still hoping for a sequel to How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days though.

Looks good. McConaughey has had some good roles over the years he just picks a lot of bad movies too. I do enjoy his good films.
