If someone actually wins this I will claim it's rigged, because aint no way in hell with all these new comers someone actually makes it.. Out of all the times its been run in Japan and only had 3 winners..

The old process used to weed out a lot of people and they only wound up sending a group of ten to Japan to compete.....I am guessing that giving more people a chance could mean someone might make it up the mountain...I don't think I've even seen an american get to stage four. The one guy who fell right at the Cliffhanger (the guy with the snaggly teeth whose nephew was also competing) was the furthest I've seen anyone make it.
Now that it is getting so big in TV ratings/sponsorships/prize money the US you are seeing more and more people training for it so I'm glad they're bringing it to America and more people will get a shot at running the full course. Are the Japanes competing in America as well or are they doing their own competition.
Nope all Americans which is kinda shitty because Japan always invited 10 Americans to compete.

I'm guessing they must have bought the rights to it in order to Americanize it....seems like they still have all the same obstacles....I doubt they nerfed it just so there would be a winner.
We're currently watching the Northeast qualifier first round...tons of people from NJ competing.
Yeah, I was wondering why they did that. My guess is they taped it a while ago in order to do the backstories and the editing so the weather can be hit or miss up here depending on how long ago it was taped. I think the bigger this gets they'll probably move it to indoor arenas in certain areas. If they were smart they would turn it into some sort of league and do it by state.
Who knows I hope it doesn't become overdone.

Whats with all the competitors who at one point lived in their cars....should call the show American Homeless Warriors
hipsters.

At least the one guy had a van...which, to be honest, looked to be comfortable and new....he was living in NYC as a stunt man...so, in that regard I could see sleeping in a vehicle to save on rent...but I wonder what it costs to continually run it in the winter for heat and summer for cooling.
