Damn fun read, IMO. Can't totally dismiss his ideas from anything I've seen so far, and honestly it does sound like something that is possible for this Trilogy. Watching the trailer, its very odd you see just a shadowy figure at the commish's bedside. Sure the voiceover is Bruce Wayne, but that could be a ruse. It could be batman's replacement sitting there, Bruce wayne could already be dead by that time in the actual movie for all we know. We could all be getting the wool pulled over our eyes by that teaser trailer. Very cool idea IMO, but kind of messes up the possibility of Batman Beyond coming from this trilogy, which is what I personally wanted to see as I don't want them to start over again, batman beyond deserves a chance in this nolan universe IMO.

I had wondered if anyone would try the Azrael Batman but I don't know much about that character.
Hasn't WB already confirmed a Batman reboot is happening next? Doesn't that kind of confirm Batman dies?
I love Nolan's Batman universe, but I could never see it being the same world in which Superman, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern inhabit. Possibly Batman Beyond and in a lot of ways that would be a reboot and a continuation at the same time. But sadly I doubt the suits at WB would go for a Batman Beyond pitch.
I also think the fact that is takes place 8 years later is a hint that it is the end for Batman, and also wouldn't Superman have shown up by now if ever Nolan's Batman lived in that universe?
Under normal circumstances I wouldn't want Batman to die but in this case it could be extremely powerful. If Nolan won't helm another film anyway and Bale is done then why not have the uber emotional and powerful ending with the death of Batman?

I think they have greenlit a Batman Beyond before, so if Nolan allows for it (if bruce wayne lives on but someone else becomes batman) it does leave a possibility to use the same universe 30-40 years in the future for a Batman Beyond. If i remember correclty Batman Beyond was ultimately shelved because of the expected cost (since it would be mostly CGI) but with the success of Batman right now its the easiest way to do a quick turn around and release a new trilogy for Batman Beyond and then go back and remake batman again (which we know will happen). Otherwise I fear we get more Batman and Robins and the such. But it'll probably be at least a year til we have an idea as to what WB is planning (rumors may come out sooner I guess as they begin talks on what to do with their NOW most popular franchise).

I'm all for Batman Beyond but hopefully if it is within Nolan's universe they don't go heavy on the CG. I know it is 40 years in the future but practical effects can work for that.
But given what a cash cow the franchise is for the studio right now I don't think we can predict anything. I mean they have to remember why it is so big right now: quality. Technically it is a superhero film but it certainly doesn't feel like it at times, which is really awesome and the reason why it is so respected I think. Having a talented director and a great script has taken Batman from the "Batman and Robin" mess it had become to just about the most hyped film there is.
I feel for the decision makers over at WB right now because it is a very delicate and challenging thing to keep this going if in fact Nolan and Bale are done. It's unlikely the fans would be pleased with any announcement other than Bale as old batman in a Batman Beyond film that is equally dark and compelling and helmed by another very respected director.
Anything short of that and the haters are going to be in full bloom.

Have any of you seen it ?
hmmm, he said it was hard to understand Bane..... I don't know if I can handle Batman's voice and Bane's gibberish for a full movie. This shit better be released with subtitles or better yet understandable dialog.
