What movies have you seen recently? The Prequel

Ummm, no, you're wrong. Most 'good' movies are good because of an original story. There's a reason why Avatar was only nominated in technical categories. Because every other aspect sucked shit.

And it was a high grossing movie because of the 3D and the way the movie was made. To think that it was because of a good story is just plain retarded.

Actually, Avatar received a Best Picture Nomination and a Best Director Nomination. But yeah, the movie kind of sucked. I really admired Cameron's technical achievement, but the story was just shit. And a lot of the performances were weak. Avatar is just cinematic cotton candy so no surprise it did well, general audiences are mostly composed of children or people who have the same intellectual and emotional intelligence as children.

Avatar was a fucking visual rollercoaster and in that regard it was amazing. Jaw dropping holy shit dem graphics and 3D sick.

But the acting, story, script....not really much to praise it for in that regard.

I happily bought a ticket and don't regret it. For a visual treat it was worth every dollar. I assume most people felt the same way and it did deserve to sell over 2 billion dollars worth of tickets.

Could I sit through it again? Hell no. Rides over, not so fun a second time. While I was watching it the 1st time I knew damn well it was an unoriginal story, pretty shallow, lame acting, etc.....but I ignored all that and enjoyed the visuals. I can't do that a second time. I popped the Blu Ray in just too see how pretty it looked and it did look great, but I watched maybe 20 minutes just out of curiousity and that was that.
