Hmm, this one was not what I expected. Much cornier than I thought it would be. Almost like Con Air in space, but it's 2012 so that level of corniness is only good for nostalgia reasons.
I do want to say though that the one main crazy guy in this plays the role possibly better than I've ever seen before. He was amazing:

Brief Encounter
I was really conflicted on my liking of the film. On one hand: David Lean's direction is superb, incredible photography, well acted, nice score, and though a very traditional (and a bit cliché by today's standards) story, it is still romantic and heartbreaking. On the other hand: The narration ruined the film for me. As a general rule (with very few exceptions), narration does not work in film. And it is painstakingly awful in this film.
