Some of the plot points & scenes are really similar, which is why I don't understand the Amazing Spider-Man "familiarity," bashing. It's probably because Batman (1989) and Batman Forever have far, far, far, far less blind fanboy support.

    TDKR

It's really hard to rate this since over 2 hours are an easy , but parts are so fucking bad and filled with such lame ass, cringe worthy dialogue that many people in my packed theater burst out laughing. It's easily Nolan's best Batman though. There were are few scenes with completely inaudible dialogue and laughable sound editing (out of sync audio as well as random volume voices, specifically Bane's). Bane's voice over was very obvious and never fit into the other sounds. It's hard to believe how awful some of the sound and a few scenes were compared to the rest of the film.

    Spoiler:
The shoot out before the big fist brawl between the cops and baddies was one of the worst action sequences I've ever seen. Even though all the bad guys are armed with AK-47's they only manage to kill <10 cops at very close range and bullets are shown hitting the ground far infront of the charging cops. It reminded me of the awful bridge scene in Inception where the Van filled with people is sitting still and there are a bunch of people shooting the van at close range for about a minute and missing.

Some of Batman's fight scenes where he drops down on the bad guys were fucking retarded. Even though they surround Batman and could easily gun him down 20x over they charged 1 by 1 to try and melee him. Since Nolan wants to be "realistic," why not at least have batman smoke or flash bang them?

Miranda Tate/Talia's death was fucking horrible, tons of people laughed. How did this shit make it's way into the movie? She should have just been dead after the truck crashed. Instead she is shown up close, wound-less and her death acting was awful.

Gordon's realization that Batman was Bruce Wayne was cringe worthy, many people laughed. It's hinted many times that Gordan knew who Batman is, instead he is made out to look like a fucking idiot.

Bane was inaudible though really loud in a few scenes. During the scene were Alfred tells Bruce that he burned the letter from Rachel, Alfred was really loud but Bruce's lines were really quiet. There were a few other scenes like this with really shitty sound editing.

There were a bunch of repeated lame ass lines like Bane & Batman's permission to die as well as a few others. Most were more believably delivered than the lines Holmes, Eckhart s & Gyllenhaal had.

Gordon's reluctant hero cop friends death was really lame and earned some laughter. I loved the close up of his bloodless, bullet hole free corpse. Most of the violence was too PG-ish and took away from the serious tone. You can show bullet holes and some blood in a PG-13 movie! The Amazing Spider-Man did it right!

On a positive note Bale actually had Chemistry with both Tate and Kyle, he had none with Holmes & Gyllenhaal. I thought Hathaway was pretty good. A few of her lines in the trailers seemed really lame since they were out of context, but most were fine except for the storm is coming shit.

Most of the movie is awesomely scored and directed. I loved the ending, especially the emotional ass kicking Wayne inflicted on Alfred since he let him think he was dead.

I wonder how many people were surprised that Batman lived since there were about 6 comments made about the Batjet's auto-pilot through out the movie, and 2 were made near the end. Since Wayne was stuck in the prison for so long it should have been obvious that he would have considered the possibility that the bomb would not be able to be deactivated.

Crane returns! Lots of Prison Break cameos!

I just saw that something in Batman Forever was handled better than it was in TDK.

Gonna go drink Draino now. Good night.

Batman quitting in BF actually made sense given the time line (it was established that Batman had been Batman for a long time) and what happens in the movie. He didn't decide to quit on a whim for a woman he had no chemistry and bad relationship with in BF, unlike in TDK.

    Dark Knight Rises 9/10

I put this one on par with Begins which both IMO eclipse TDK.

Has a very nice flow from start to finish and doesn't really have any boring spots. The Ending was a bit........Lame IMO and those who seen will likely know which bit I am on about.

Overall though just plain awesome. Bane was awesome as was Tom Hardy playing him. Catwoman was very good IMO and Hathaway did a great job with her.

Can't wait to see it again

Charley Varrick - Walter Matthau is an ice-cool bank robber on the run after stealing money from the mob and has to stay one step ahead of various psychopaths and sleaze-balls. Aside from a bizarre action scene for a climax and some strange leaps in the plot that would make TDKR look air-tight, I really enjoyed it. Especially Joe Don Baker's character, who to me seemed like he inspired a lot of other characters, from Hans Landa to Anton Chigurh.

For every legitimate complaint about the movie there always seems to be 3 or 4 absolutely retarded ones right beside it.
