lol That wasn't to anyone. In fact, it was completely random because I was looking at an Engadget comparison and thought aloud in this thread.


For me the the biggest let down, and the reason I have no problem keeping my current iphone 4, is the same screen size. There is room to make this fucking phone have a 4" screen. Shit show IMO.

I'd agree there. I debated switching to an iphone but I know Im going to feel scrunched on that screen coming from a DX where I now feel like its normal sized, not overly large.

No, that's WP7. Android will fragment itself into 2nd or 3rd place depending on how apple proceeds in the future regarding the iphone and iOS.

I don't understand why it's named "Siri" to be honest. It doesn't fit any of apples naming conventions.

Comparing specs to an Android phone is kind of silly. iPhone runs better, on lesser hardware. I'm not saying Android hardware isn't awesome, but at the end of the day it's the software stupid.

Iphone runs simpler. It simply isn't doing as many things and so it can skate by with less hardware.

Personally give me beefier specs that allows me to do more.

My SG2 is almost instant in almost everything I do with it. So the 'runs better' argument is kind of moot. Nevermind, that as Android becomes more and more popular developers will begin to focus on it as the lead development platform which should only help matters.

I dont think thats what he was referring to. Apple's iOS is very polished and good for the mainstream, but lacks the customization and user choices that Android has (no, no WP7. If you think WP7 is the poster child for customization you need a couple days with MIUI or CM7 on an android device). Sadly, what comes with customization is the lack of polish you get with iOS.

The way I see it is like this:

Android has the most computability but is too much like a windows pc. That is not how you want your smartphone to work. WP7 offers the polish and smoothness/ of ios with the hardware options of android while keeping the experience relatively consistent. Basically the middle road between iOS and android which I think is the winning combination.

About siri, would have been awesome if apple named it EDI.

Windows phones seem to have pretty constrained hardware options it seems.

I also don't think that the 'Android is a PC' analogy really works as tightly as you are claiming.

Until google improves its sdk and maybe introduces some, at the minumum, suggested design elements, I don't think the quality of android apps will surpass iPhone or even Windows Phone (some of those apps is really nice).

Of course Android has plenty of nice apps too, but i mean simple example, use the iPhone facebook app vs. the Android facebook app. Of course as long as the app works, fancy transitions and other things like that don't really matter.
